Post-Judgment Delay Interest Calculator
Calculate general debt interest and additional delayed-performance interest for a mainland China judgment, with rate-period details and currency comparison.
What this tool checks
Enter the calculation principal and delayed-performance dates. Include general debt interest if the effective judgment provides for it, then download the separate calculations and currency reference.
Compare in your currency
Enter the calculation principal in CNY. The original CNY calculation stays the same when you change the reference currency. Each Word download records the exchange rate and its reference date or manual status.

General interest and additional interest
This calculator separates general debt interest stated in the effective legal instrument from the additional delayed-performance component. The additional component uses the calculation principal excluding general debt interest. The general-interest switch is off initially; enable it to select a fixed annual rate, PBC benchmark followed by LPR, LPR only, or PBC benchmark only.
The calculation includes both displayed endpoint dates and supports delayed-performance dates from 1 August 2014. The additional component is calculated as principal × 0.0175% per day × chargeable days. General-interest rate periods are rounded separately; the rounded general and additional components are then added.
Recorded calculation example
CNY 150 from 21 to 22 July 2024, with one-year LPR general interest and a 360-day year, gives CNY 0.02 general interest + CNY 0.05 additional interest = CNY 0.07. The Word detail keeps the rate-period formulas and the additional component separate.
Legal source and currency comparison
The Supreme People's Court's 2014 interpretation addresses the calculation, accrual period, repayment and foreign-currency obligations. Use the effective instrument to determine the calculation principal and the first delayed-performance day. Calculate separate overdue instalments separately.
The optional currency comparison converts the rounded CNY result for budgeting. A foreign-currency judgment has a specific conversion rule under Article 5; the latest reference exchange rate shown here does not establish that legal conversion.
The stored LPR series includes publications through 20 September 2026. The tool reports an unavailable later quotation period; it does not assume a new rate.
