Evidence, Apostille & Chinese Court Documents
Foreign businesses often have the facts but not a filing-ready evidence package. We help organize contracts, emails, electronic records, corporate documents, powers of attorney, translations, and any notarization, Apostille, or other formalities that the destination court may require.
A good claim can fail if the document trail is not usable.
The practical questions are which documents prove the claim, how electronic evidence should be preserved, which foreign corporate documents establish authority, how Chinese translation will be handled, and whether a particular document needs notarization, Apostille, consular authentication, or another form of certification.
What we help prepare
We separate verified facts, available documents, legal conditions, and practical next steps.
- A chronology and evidence index for contracts, invoices, correspondence, shipments, payments, product defects, and performance records.
- Preservation planning for email, messaging records, platform data, photographs, inspection records, and other electronic evidence.
- Foreign-company certificates, powers of attorney, authorizations, and signatory documents for a mainland China filing.
- Chinese translations and a document-by-document review of whether notarization, Apostille, authentication, or certification may be required.
- A filing checklist that distinguishes what is legally required, what is prudent, and what still needs confirmation from the competent court or authority.
How the work usually develops
Indicative stages only. The route, timing, and filing requirements depend on the matter and destination forum.
Map the evidence
We organize the transaction record, identify the missing links, and separate original evidence from summaries or assumptions.
Protect electronic records
We identify time-sensitive records and the appropriate preservation method for the dispute and forum.
Prepare foreign documents
We coordinate translations and review the applicable formalities for corporate authority and court documents.
Deliver a usable package
The evidence and supporting documents are assembled for the selected mainland procedure and checked against the current filing route.
There is no universal Apostille checklist for every document or every case. Requirements depend on the issuing country, document type, destination, court or authority, procedural route, and applicable law at the time of filing. We do not treat an Apostille as a substitute for translation, admissibility, relevance, or proof of authenticity.
What to prepare for an assessment
- Issuing country and purpose of each document.
- Corporate authority, proposed power of attorney and signatory details.
- Original evidence, available translations and intended court or procedure.
Costs, timing and recovery risk
Document type, issuing authority, translation volume and court requirements determine preparation costs. Confirm formalities before purchasing unnecessary certification.

Common questions
No. The answer is document- and procedure-specific. We identify the issuing country, destination, document type, and current court requirements before recommending a formalization path.
They may be relevant, but the collection, preservation, identity, completeness, translation, and authenticity of electronic records must be assessed from the facts.
The Hague Apostille Convention entered into force for mainland China on 7 November 2023. That does not make every document automatically acceptable; the specific document and destination procedure still control.
